Email from Elder Lofthouse 3/30/15 NA

This week was amazing.  Like on a scale of 3-9 it was about a 12.  So, amazing.  We did a lot of street contacting this week, and we found a bunch of people who want to be taught more.  It's pretty awesome.  There was one guy came  up to us on the street and asked us "Who is Satan?"  I personally thought 'where's this gonna go?'.  It was incredible.  We were able to explain how Satan can influence us, but the influence of  the Spirit is even greater.  He said he would give us a call when he felt more comfortable following a religion.  I hope he calls soon.

This weekend is Conference.  I can't wait!!  It's gonna be amazing.
And also this weekend is Easter!  I love this season.  I know that Christ died for us and that on the third day he rose and gained victory over death!  And because of him and everything he did for us allows us to be able to live with our Father in Heaven again!  I love the hope that the Gospel brings.

I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Email from Elder Lofthouse 3/23/15 IDK

This week was Awesome!!  Elder Wilkinson and I contacted a bunch of referrals.  We were able to get 2 new investigators.  They're both really interested.  I can't wait to teach them some more.  This week was also the first day of "spring".  We got about 6 inches of snow.  Best spring ever!!
We did a lot of street contacting and tracting this week.  It was a lot of fun, and we got to meet a bunch of different people.  There are some awesome people out there.  I love it!!

I love this place.  Meeting all of these people and working hard makes me realize that this is where I'm supposed to be.  all we have to do is listen to what God tells us, do it, and then everything else will fall into place.

I hope you all have fantastic week.  Keep up the amazing-ness back home!!

Email from Elder Lofthouse 3/16/15 Red Deer

Red Deer is great!!  I love it here.  It's super warm.  My new companion is Elder Wilkinson.  He's an awesome dude.  Because it's so warm, we decided that we needed to go running.  So we've gone running a lot.  It sucks.  I need to do it to get in shape though....

When I got here this area was "dead". Elder Wilkinson told me that it had been really slow, but then we got 6 referrals.  We've been doing a lot of contacting.  We have one referral that we contacted that wants to meet with us.  I love this work.

Elder Wilkinson and I listened to the talk "Trial of the Stick of Joseph" by Jack West.  It's pretty long, but it is the most incredible thing I've ever heard.    The Book of Mormon is true.  There is no denying that fact.  If you have not had this witness for yourself, I challenge you to take Moroni's challenge and read the book and pray about it.  If you pray with a sincere heart, you will get the witness that the Book of Mormon is true.  We can all learn a lot from it.

I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Email from Elder Lofthouse 3/9/15 Transfers!

Howdy everybody!!
Today was transfer calls.  I'm getting transferred!  I'm going to Red Deer.  It's about an hour or so south of Edmonton.  I can't wait to go!
This week was awesome.  We were able to teach D and A again.  Those two kids are progressing a ton!  I'm gonna miss teaching them.  We were not able to meet with M, and C is in Edmonton for school.
I'm sad that I'm leaving Cherry Grove.  I love this area.  But I'm super stoked to go down to Red Deer.  It's incredibly warm down there right now, so I don't even know if there's snow right now!
Always remember that whatever happens in life, it's what God has planned for us.  The saying "roll with the punches" is true.  Life is gonna sucker punch you right in the mouth.  Just trust that God is doing what is best for you.
I hope you all have a fantastic week.

Email from Elder Lofthouse 3/2/15 Something

Hey everybody!!  I hope things are going as well back home as they are here!
This week was pretty good.  Elder Larsen got sick again.  Poor kid.  He sounds like Death with Bronchitis. So on Tuesday we went to go visit M Y again, but he wasn't there!  It was a pretty sad day.  So we drove all the way back to Cherry Grove, and then we went to teach D and A.  Those boys are progressing a ton!  They've kind of made a competition out of the commitments, so they're pushing each other to do more and more. On Saturday there were some boys in the ward that got baptized, and C came to the baptism!!  I hope that he felt the spirit and wants to get baptized soon.

I love this gospel.  I've realized that without it, all of us would be in very different places right now.  I'm so grateful for everything that has been taught to me. I hope that we all have a chance to share it with others.  It's the greatest feeling ever!

Have a great week everybody!
