Email from Elder Lofthouse 7/12/16 Meetings...Yay

This week was insane. But it was awesome at the same time.

Tuesday evening, after supper with the Cahoon's, we exchanged with the Conners Hill Elders. Elder Nerdin came back to Sherwood Park with me. He's a super cool kid.

Wednesday was interesting. We had a lesson with Aaron.  He's awesome. We taught the restoration and he thought it was super cool. He's been reading the Book of Mormon, so that's good. We also saw the Wendover's, and we found out they're moving.  Sad day. We went and helped some people move about 40 sheets of drywall into a basement after that..... And it started to dump rain. I loved it. We had supper with the Gibbs afterward, and it was super fun. We had meatballs in sweet and sour sauce, and it was one of the best sauces I've ever had! After that we exchanged back. It was a really good day.

Thursday we had district meeting in the morning. It was good. District meeting is always fun. After lunch we tried by some potential investigators.  Most of them weren't home, and the few that were said to try again later. So we'll do that!  After that we had supper with the Chiu's. They're awesome.  We went to see the Cunninghams after that, but they weren't home. :( However, we did get to go see Brother Kohn!  :) He's just such an awesome guy. It was a pretty good day.

MLC. What have we gotten ourselves into?
Friday was incredibly long. We had MLC. Which is always long, but it was pretty good. There aren't any huge changes happening yet, so that's good. After MLC we had supper with the Guzman's. They're super cool.  We talked about prayer and how much it helps us. After supper we had a visit with Sister Reid. She has been struggling a little lately, and we were able to help her out.  It was an awesome visit. It was a good day.

Saturday we had coordination with Bro Lambert in the morning. We then did weekly planning, which took us quite a while. After all that we went and visited Jim. He's home alone right now, so we thought we'd visit him and see how he was doing. We had coordination with Bro Voravong after that. It was good.  We went and had supper with Addie, and then we helped her stack bricks. It was awesome!  The best part of the day was when President Pattison brought his 3 sons over to our
apartment and we ate donuts and had chocolate milk with all of them. It was awesome. President Pattison is a super cool guy.

Sunday we had Ward council in the morning. Then we had our studies, and went to church. Sacrament meeting was awesome. There was a Sister who just got home who spoke. She's the fifth person to get home from their missions since I've been here in Clarkdale. It's been fun!  After church we had supper and then we went and helped the Guzman's unload some stuff.  Sister Guzman's mom moved in, so we helped them with that. It was an overall good day!

Monday was awesome. We went to the foodbank in the morning, and did a bunch of stuff. I love going to help there. After lunch we met up with the YSA elders to go on a quick split to teach a YSA less active guy in our Ward. Sadly, he wasn't home. So we went to the Guzman's and helped mow their lawn. After mowing the lawn we went and moved a whole bunch more drywall. We did lots of service. We had supper with the Hardings.  They are super cool. Later in the evening we saw Vivian!  She was excited to see us, and we had a nice chat. It was a great day.

This week was awesome.  Just like every other week. This week I noticed something. The more we worry about the future, or worry about what happened in the past, the more we miss out on the beauty of what is happening right now. We should still plan for our future, and we should learn from our past, but we need to be ready and willing to help those around us today.  That's the most important thing for us to do. Always be ready to serve those around you in a moments notice. It makes life a lot
more enjoyable!

Love ya lots

It is a most mortifying reflection for a man to consider what he has done, compared to what he might have done.
