Email from Elder Lofthouse 2/16/16 What Did I do This Week?

This week just kind of flew by...... Crazy!
Tuesday we had a lesson with Donna..... It was awesome.  She's just great.  I think that's really the most notable thing.  It was P-day..... We didn't do anything too crazy.
Wednesday was pretty good.  We had a skype district meeting, had lunch, and stopped by Ryan, but nobody was home.  He's never home..... It's kind of frustrating.  We went and visited Sister Wonnacott.  She's an older lady who never gets visits from people, so we went to visit.  She's awesome.  She truly loves the gospel.  We had supper with the Johnston's, which was super good, as usual.  That night, nobody we stopped by was home.  :(
Thursday was good.  We had our usual morning stuff, and then we went and shovelled the walk at the church.  After that we visited Heather and Dennis.  They're awesome.  They're always looking for ways to serve us.  It's really sweet.  that night we set up an appointment for Monday with Mark.  That was good!  Thursday was way better than Wednesday was!  :)
Friday was excellent.  We did some weekly planning in the morning, and then we went to the SPCA to volunteer.  We're still working with Titan, but he's making a lot of progress.  After that we finished weekly planning, and started planning a new finding idea we're going to try.... It's going to be fun.
Saturday we helped Willie in the morning.  We helped him put away the Christmas decorations in his yard!  After lunch we went to the Ward's and had a lesson on preparing to enter the Temple.  It was awesome, and they really want to go to there.  It's a good goal to have!  Then we started to organize our Bible Study.  We want to contact all of the Pastors for other churches in town and start a community Bible Study.  The only problem, we don't want it to turn into a bash-fest.  It'll be interesting to see.  After that we had supper with the Wry's.  They're great.  Then we went and picked up some food from Shannon.  She made me some pre-portioned meals to help with my weight loss goals!  She's so nice.  It was a really good day.
Sunday was excellent.  Shannon gave a talk in Sacrament meeting, which was really good!  Elder Hubner and I spoke as well.  After the intermediate hymn, it was announced that Elder Hubner would speak.  He had already given his talk.  It was so funny.  I was like, 'sure Elder Hubner can give my talk, that'd be great!'.  It was great.  After church we went and gave Heather and Dennis the Sacrament. It was really good.  So we went after that to contact people for the Study group. We stopped by the ARK: Christian youth centre, and met the commanding officer for the Air Cadets in Dawson Creek.  She said she'd pass the word on.  After that we went and gave Shannon her dishes back.  We went to supper with the Whitehead's after that.  It was awesome.  I love that family.  They're so cool!  Sunday was awesome.
Monday we went and did some service in Alberta!  We went to the Travis' farm to help out.  We put up some 30 foot posts for a new system Brother Travis has of closing his gate for when he sorts the Bison!  It was awesome.  It took us a while to get all of the posts up.  We drove back to town and had Family Home Evening with the Leslie's and Chrystal.  It was really cool.  We stopped by Mark for a lesson, but he had a business meeting, so he wasn't home..... It was sad.  But overall, it was a really good day!
This week I spoke in Sacrament Meeting.  I spoke on the scripture 2 Nephi: 31:20  It's one of my favorites.  I learned so much studying this one scripture.  It made me realize that there is so much stuff in the scriptures that we don't usually think about!  When you study, if you have questions on what words mean, look them up.  I learned that the word Perfect means complete or finish.  I learned that the word hope means a feeling of trust.  So the phrase "having a perfect brightness of hope" could also say "having complete trust."  How crazy is that! The Scriptures are the greatest thing on the planet.  I love them so much.  I hope you can grow your love for the scriptures.
Love you lots!
